What is the lifespan of an RV LiFePO₄ battery?
4,000+ cycles at 80% depth of discharge (DoD). For an average RVer who uses the battery daily, this translates to 10+ years. Since most RV usage involves shallow cycles (20-50% DoD), actual lifespan often extend. That’s typically longer than the RV ownership period – one less component to replace.

Does cold weather affect the battery?
Standard version discharges down to -20°C, but charging requires temperatures above 0°C. Optional self-heating version: when a charger is connected below 0°C, the battery automatically warms itself to a safe charging temperature – allowing reliable charging down to -30°C. We strongly recommend the battery with heating function for RVs used in winter or cold climates.

Is Bluetooth monitoring available for parallel batteries?
Yes. The iPolinovel app can monitor each battery individually in a parallel bank – you’ll see voltage, SOC, and temperature for every unit. This is especially useful for large RV builds with 200Ah+ banks.

Can I mount the battery on its side?
Yes. LiFePO₄ has no orientation restrictions – you can mount it on its side, end, or even upside down. However, we recommend keeping terminals upward for better heat dissipation and easier cable access. Always secure the battery to prevent movement.

How many amp hours do I need for off-grid boondocking?

Can I use my existing lead-acid converter/charger with a LiFePO₄ battery?
Most modern converters have a lithium mode (14.2–14.6V). Older units with a fixed 13.8V output will not fully charge LiFePO₄. We recommend either upgrading to a lithium-specific charger or checking if your converter has a selectable lithium profile. For fleet retrofits, we offer compatible charging kits.
